The Columbia Gorge is a wondrous sight for the eye to behold. It's one of the best nature photography spots in the continental United States, but with this spectacular nature in our region comes the need to responsibly enjoy and protect it.
Since 2015 Friends of the Columbia Gorge has held an annual photo contest as a way to give the public an outlet to artistically communicate the Gorge's beauty and natural wonder, as well as its unique combination of natural landscapes, human infrastructure, and vibrant cultures and communities.
The contest's entry period generally runs from mid-autumn through New Year's Eve, with judging and announcement of winners taking place in spring. Preliminary judging is completed by Friends' staff, with final judging carried out by a panel of outside photographers and/or conservation professionals.
